Hello everyone,
Recently I read some posts regarding Google’s future plans for Google+. After a research seems that they are valid and final. Google decided to break Google+ into two standalone services. The one service will be called “Streams” and looks that will be hosting the posts, announcements etc and the other one “Photos” and will be hosting the “visual” content (images and everything related).
Seems like Google is introducing a new Pinterest and a new Twitter in the market and I really don’t know why they should do that. Google+ is different than other Social Media (Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter) and I think it should stay like that.
It was obvious, for some time now, that something was about to change. Google introduced many changes the last couple of years. They gradually discontinue some features like the mandatory Google+ integration with other services like initially Gmail, Hangouts (another service that was separated and it’s now a standalone app) and later Youtube. The most important features, especially for website and blog owners was Google Authorship which was terminated and its team was transferred to Android because Google was losing money from their ads since visitors were distracted by the profile pics.
There are some thoughts that Google+ will stay around for advertisers. The problem is that advertisers want to combine advertisements and social media and in this case I don’t see a reason to prefer Google+ for their ads. Till now Internet Marketers prefer G+ because of the exposure their ads get through this social media, especially if you compare it with Facebook’s ad service which is not so profitable. Facebook, though, is the largest social media and Google+ didn’t manage to become the number one in the market.
Google+ will soon say goodbye and find a place next to other services like Google Buzz, Aardvark, Google Answers, Labs, Google RSS feeder and a few more.
G+ was Google’s heavy artillery to bit Facebook. It didn’t win and now it’s time to get ready for the next concept.
If you check their past you can see that they constantly try new ideas and services but if they see that the results are not meeting their expectations they make it history.
Now the real matter is what are you going to do with that, especially when your business in connected to Google+. You need to re-evaluate the situation and put your efforts to relocate your campaigns somewhere else. Also, don’t forget to notify your network so that you won’ lose them. You spent a lot of your valuable time to make that network so you don’t want to see it gone. For the time being, enjoy it while it lasts!
What is your opinion about Google’s move?

Wow! I have ranking on page 1 because of Google plus. I wonder if I may loose that? Thanks for the info.
Hi David,
Yes I know what you are talking about. That’s my question as well! Hope we won’t lose them!
Thanks for dropping by and for leaving a comment!

I see what you are saying and I like the way you put it into words
Hi Max and thank you for your support!

I think it’s a terrible move. Instead of trying to be what other people are, they should show us something new. I like both Pinterest and Twitter, so I’m not interested in Google’s version.
Hi Martina,
I also believe that it’s not a good move from their side. Making something just to compete with the others is pointless. Yes, they should try something different and that’s what we all need, something new and innovating, not a copy of something else.
Thanks for visiting and for commenting!

We are in big trouble I think …. Let’s see what is going to happen with our rankings …
Hope that they will take care of it and we won’t lose anything. Let’s wait and see!
