Advertising – Promoting your website

is something that needs a lot of analysis. There are different types of advertisement. Everything depends on what are you looking for ….

For example ..

1) IF you are looking for “clicks” (just visitors) to help you get a “better” ranking in search engines you can use, Traffic Exchange programs and PTC sites (you can find some legit businesses in another section). With this kind of traffic, you get MANY visitors for a few bucks or by investing some minutes of your time in exchange. The conversions are not very good especially if you are advertising just a product or service without using your own website. If you make a good website with good content, people will spend some time and the chances to make a conversion are higher. It’s great to get traffic to your website.

2) Static Ads provided by Google Adsense, Google ads, Yahoo, Adhits etc. It’s definitely more expensive than the previous one but this type of advertisement is more targeted since the providers expose your ads to people who are searching items within this category and it’s more likely to get a conversion since the odds are better. It’s great for direct selling products.

3) Social Media (Facebook, Google+, Myspace, LinkedIn etc). You can promote anything you want, Your website, products, services etc. The audience is big but not targeted. By sharing something there, doesn’t mean that people are looking for it at the specific moment. It’s like PTC and Traffic exchange. You get exposure, visitors, traffic and people may bookmark your post or website for later.

4) Youtube. I separate youtube from the above social media, because it’s a bit different than the other social media. Youtube is the #1 choice for most people who are looking for something in the web. That’s why people are searching more for information in youtube than in … google. Most of us are looking for reviews, tests, video, walkthroughs, comparisons and any kind of information for the product or service we are interested in youtube. Why? One reason is maybe because you see the product and you hear what he/she has to say about it. You don’t have to read something … In this case uploading a video and putting your link in the description helps a lot! Another way is to put your ad in someone’s else video.

Anything you choose, is better than nothing because …. website without visitors is doomed!
