So, at this point I’ll try to make the process easier for you by giving you a brief guide covering one of the most popular questions among Entrepreneurs … How To Create Engaging Social Media Posts?

Well, these are my suggestions for the most popular social media networks.

Facebook

Facebook is a huge network with a very wide competition. Maybe the most critical element you have to take into concern is to create an engaging and eye-catching post.  Facebook combines images and text and this gives you the opportunity to properly combine this features together and create a highly engaging post. Just keep in mind that most users, who have been properly trained to do so, are aiming to the same direction with you so … act smart and study the competition.

Here are a few guidelines to make your life easier with facebook:

  • Create a facebook page instead of using your personal profile.
  • Create an Interesting and Engaging Title for your Posts: The title is the first thing that your visitor will see and his reaction to engage or not to, depends on this very first impression. Provide relevant and valuable information in the title to increase the level of engagement.
  • Tip: Sometimes using a Negative Title works better than using a Positive Title
  • importance: People usually engage more with posts that provide information they find important.
  • How To Create a Post: Start with the Title, then add a brief but engaging description of less than 120 characters and then add a shortened link to your post.
  • Statistics: Use a Shortened link, like goo.gl to keep tracking the link and see how many clicks or visits you received.
  • Photo: Don’t forget to include a photo to your post. Facebook posts that have an image receive the highest amount of engagement. An 800 x 600 px image fits perfect on facebook.
  • Comments: Target people or communities directly using the ” @ ” followed by their name or community, it has been noticed that this step significantly increases the engagement and creates trust.
  • Mobile Friendly: Well facebook is mobile friendly but is your website mobile friendly as more than 80% of the traffic comes from mobiles and smartphones. Check whether your website is Mobile Friendly or not.

Twitter

Twitter differs from other Social Media Networks in many things. The most important feature is that it’s highly used by businesses to engage their audience. All Newspapers and TV News channels are using it so the number of tweets getting published are tremendous! That’s the reason why you have to be creative.

These are some of the most important parameters you have to keep in mind while posting on tweeter:

  • Retweet: By Retweeting other users interesting posts in order to “keep in touch”  with your followers will cause to get their followers follow you back.
  • Retweet and use your name: When you retweet, add your name or community at the end or add RT @username and the beginning of the tweet you are retweeting.
  • Ideal Tweet Length: Try to keep your tweets  at about 120 characters so that you leave enough space for others to retweet your post and be able to add their comments or their username as mentioned above.
  • Statistics: Again use a Shortened link, goo.gl to keep tracking the link and see how many clicks or visits you received.
  • Mentions: You can mention other active users or communities, or someone with huge followers, but keep it relevant so that you don’t start spamming. Use ” @ ” to respond to other users to also increase the engagement.
  • Hashtags: Use the most appropriate #Hashtags for your posts, so that people who are not following you, but following or searching for what you are posting will have the opportunity to read it. That way you will boost your engagement and you will gain more followers.
  • Grammar: Don’t sacrifice your grammar for the 120 character length or don’t use SMS style tweets to save space. That will ruin your reputation among your followers and you most probably won’t get any new followers too.
  • Photo/Video: Tweets having a photo, infographic or a video are considered as the most engaging ones.

 Google +

Google Plus is a great social network with great engagement, lot’s of fans and it’s well-known among the Internet Marketing circles.  Although we are expecting some major changes by Google, I will give you some ideas and rules of engagement.

  • Follow The Trends: Engage and comment on Trending and Hot Posts to increase your presence.
  • Create A Page covering Your Niche: Try Engaging with your niche page instead of your Official Personal Profile. People engage more with brands rather than with personal profiles, unless you have a high valued personal profile.
  • Title: Use creative and interesting Title, Your Title has to stay under 60 characters for Optimal engagement.
  • Hashtags: As I also mentioned above, use the most appropriate #Hashtags for your posts.
  • Be Social: Find communities relevant to yours and be active. Never spam on them and make sure that what you post is relevant and worth reading, otherwise this engagement will work against your goal and reputation.
  • Comments: Discuss with other commenters as they can probably turn up as your visitors too.
  • Photo: Google +  gives you the ability to add a photo in order to gain more engagement. A 800 x 600 px image fits perfect on Google plus posts.
  • Add Your Link: Add a shortened link to your post as mentioned for the other social media above and keep statistics.
