False Impressions About Affiliate Marketing

Till now I have made several posts about strategies, ideas, tips on how to create a successful Internet Business, How to Create Social Media Posts, etc

But till now I didn’t write anything about any false impression about Internet Marketing that are out there.  Let’s find out all these myths, analyze them help you get rid of those false impressions about Internet Marketing and help you become a great Affiliate Marketer.

Affiliate Marketing is an Easy Way to Get Rich Quick Scheme

The only way to have an easy profit is to find a pack of $100 bills or to win a lottery … In Affiliate Marketing, profit depends on your personal investment. Investment on time, energy, work and maybe money.

It’s very important to bring new visitors to your website(s) and to maintain the old ones. That can be done by creating new and engaging content. You need to update your websites content frequently with valuable to your readers content. Spare time to regularly research for information and give your audience a reason to visit your website back, to give them a reminder that you are there for them and to make  them click on your links / new posts when they see them on the social medias. Also don’t forget to improve your website and make it friendly to search engines (SEO) (SEO).

“I Don’t Know which niche to choose, But I ‘ll Promote Anything I Find and I Might Convert ….”

Is this your strategy? Yes, but it’s not what you really want to do. You want to succeed. You want to become an authority on … something. You want to Create A Wealthy Online Business. Correct? Then do it the right way and you will see that it will pay off! Choose a niche you like or you know better. A niche that you feel comfortable to talk about and that you can create quality content for your audience. Don’t spend your valuable time to see what is the “Best Selling Niche” … there is no “Best Selling Niche” without a successful Internet Marketer in the background. Internet Marketers create Best Selling Products / services and not the products by themselves. Some Internet Marketers feel better to promote Health Care products, others to promote Music Instruments, others Website Creation and Web Development, other people like photography, music, pets, cooking …. etc the list is endless.  It’s really up to you, your knowledge and how comfortable you feel with your expertise on a specific niche. So pick up your favorite topic and start building your empire online! Convince your audience, through your website’s content to use the product or service you are suggesting them.

“I Don’t Have A clue About that Product, but who cares … I’ve heard that it’s Good so I’ll Promote it ….”

Well, things are not so simple … let me give you an example. Do you think that I know every type of Gold Clubs and what they are designed to do? That’s a definite NO … so how am I supposed to persuade you to buy a Pinemeadow Men’s PGX Golf Set-Driver, 3 Wood, Hybrid, 5-PW Irons (Right Handed, Regular Flex)? I cannot even persuade myself  to buy it since I don’t have the slightest idea about it.

You might find people giving the best reviews about it and, most probably, I won’t persuade you to buy it since I don’t have any personal experience by using it or you won’t see my real and deep enthusiasm about it. So you won’t trust my opinion for it.

It doesn’t mean that you will promote only things that you own or use, but the most important thing is to know what you are talking about and never lie about it!

“Buy, Buy, Buy”

All Affiliate Marketers have a common goal. To Sale and make a profit, so your aim is to increase your selling / conversion rate, but don’t forget that no one likes a seller who is pressing for a sale.

Let’s go back to the 2 previous points and note down:

1. You need to have the constant attention of your audience and their trust for what you are promoting so make sure that you are promoting products and services that are relevant to your niche and their needs.
2. Create a high level of trust between you and your audience. Make them feel safe and that your website is there to help them and not to pull their money out of their pockets.

“The Only Thing I Care About is the Commissions I Earn and Not the… Other Statistics…”

You shouldn’t focus only on the current commissions but also on the future ones. This can be managed and monitored only through the “Other Statistics”.

What does that mean? Those “Other Statistics” are your affiliate link clicks, your click through rate, the conversion rate and the EPC (Earnings Per Click) of each affiliate program.

The first two indicate, what your visitors found attractive to click on it and what not. Focus on a category or service that your visitors like most and don’t waste your time with all those that don’t get their attention.

when you choose a product or service to promote, pay attention to the EPC of it. It’s a good indicator which shows what you would be earning if that program was paying a commission per click. It’s as important as the conversion rate and the commission. So when you start promoting it, check your EPC and decide if it’s worth promoting it or not.

What does that mean?

I will give you a simple example:

As you can see Product “B” has double commission than Product “A” which is something that makes most Amateur Internet Marketers to choose product “B”. Well, the commission is only an element and it doesn’t really gives the whole picture. Product “A” has a better Conversion Rate, a Higher Average Sale and the most important a better EPC! That gives a glorious win to product “A”!

My Brand New, Fancy Website Looks Good, I Don’t Care What Others Do.

Sure! “New Kids On The Block” always look better, but the more experienced “kids on the block” are better established. What does that mean? Your website might look smarter, better designed, more colorful, hi-tech, modern, fresher, with a brand new template, with interesting content but don’t forget that you are not alone on this neighborhood! The competition is HIGH!

There are definitely lot’s of websites like yours, on the same niche, which have become an authority, with dedicated readers and “fans” who trust them for their quality and their professionalism or websites that are making their own start in the same niche as you. Keep your eyes wide open and study your competition. See what they are doing and try to do something different. DO NOT copy them since that will not guide you anywhere. Try to be innovative and don’t reproduce the same ideas or even copy their articles, content or website design since that will be your disaster. Search Engines  are getting more and more … intelligent and they will punish you for copying.

Post Affiliate Links and Deals “On The Go” …

There are lot’s of Affiliate Marketers that promote a new product a few minutes after the official launch of the program. Well, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The bad thing is that those Affiliate Marketers don’t check the validation of the affiliate links and check what their visitors will see when they click on that link. Of course, in this case, the whole campaign is a total loss!

Are you an e-mail marketer? Before sending your newsletter:

• Send a test email to yourself and make sure that your e-mail is as expected
• Check if your Affiliate Links are working
• Check if the associated pictures are been displayed properly
• Check if the whole structure is right.
• Check if the content is readable in all web browsers?
• Check if it’s  Mobile Friendly?

Do You Promote Using The Social Media? Make sure that:

• Your posts are brief
• Check if what you write makes sense
• Check for any misspelled words
• Make sure that your call to action is obvious
• If the post you created doesn’t meet your expectations after posting it, it’s better to delete the post, make the appropriate adjustments and then re-post it.
